TIT BITS FOR YOUR RICH FLAKY MEAT PIE

  • The ratio of the flour to the margarine should be 2: 1. Thus if 500g of Flour is used, then 250g of Margarine will be added.
  • Temperature of the margarine should be a bit cold before mixing in with the flour. Thus colder than room temperature, ( you should be able to cut with knife but not too hard either- (so basically when you pick the margarine from the fridge, let it sit for about 10 minutes before mixing with the flour)
  • Again, after mixing the margarine and flour, put the dough in the fridge to rest for about 10 min before rolling.
  • Allow the fillings to be saucy as they dry out due to the time in & temperature of the oven.
  • Seal of the sides very well so the fillings do not flow out.
